Catch a glimpse of Sonam Kapoor's new Mumbai home that can best be described as "homage to Indian craftsmanship".

The home is an amalgamation of Tanjore paintings, Naga panels, Rajasthani jalis, zardozi embroideries and more.

"This house, which I share with my husband Anand and baby son Vayu, represents a new chapter for me, as a woman, a collector—and a mother," Sonam said.

"I had been longing for a base in which to curate all the things I have collected while filming in far-flung parts of India over the years," she further stated.

Sonam Kapoor belongs to a matriarchal line of women who are passionate about interior designing.

The actress stated, "She (her nani) used to race in her Maruti Suzuki to Dadar flower market at 5am to fill her house with scents. She adored classical music, art, and carpets."

"... Having come from a pre-partition Sindhi family in Karachi who had to start over again, my grandmother had a refinement in her tastes. It is hard to understate her influence on me," she continued.

Sonam's love for Indian craftmanship and maximalism is on display in her new home.

"... The double-height ceilings and the sweep of the lateral space began to seduce me.I quietly relished the idea of creating a spectacle from sheer nothingness," the actor quipped.

Sonam collaborated with her aunt and celebrated interior designer Kavita Singh into transforming the blank canvas into this beautiful home.
