Shamar Joseph Shines For West Indies In First Test Against South Africa

South Africa, despite a dismal batting performance, is in the driver's seat due to some excellent bowling.

West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph made a memorable comeback after injury with a five-wicket haul (5/33).

Joseph took three early wickets, dismissing Aiden Markram and Temba Bavuma, reducing  South Africa to 20 for 3.

Pacer Jayden Seales complemented Shamar with figures of 3/45.

Protea batters Dane Piedt and Nandre Burger put up a 10th-wicket partnership of 63 runs.

South Africa finally finished the innings at 160.

While batting, West Indies faced a determined Nandre Burger and Wiaan Mulder.

Apart from Keacy Carty, Jason Holder and Gudakesh Motie, none of the Windies batters reached double digits.

Wiaan Mulder ended the day with 4/18 and Burger 2/32.

Spinner Keshav Maharaj eeked out a wicket too at the end.

After stumps on Day 1, West Indies are trailing by 63 runs at 97/7.
