Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel Equals 65-Year-Old Record

Saud Shakeel has scored 1,000 runs in 11 Tests and 20 innings.

He reached the 1000-run mark in Pakistan’s opening Test against Bangladesh.

Shakeel joins Saeed Ahmed in first place who recorded the feat in 1959.

Saeed also achieved it in  11 matches and 20 innings. 

Taking second place is Sadiq Mohammad who completed a thousand Test runs in 1973.

He reached the milestone in 13 matches and 22 innings.

Abdullah Shafique follows Sadiq in third place, reaching the tally in 2023.

He did it in 13 matches and 24 innings.

Javed Miandad recorded the feat in 1978 playing 14 matches and 23 innings.

Taufeeq Umar crossed the 1000-run mark in 2003 in 14 fixtures and 24 innings.
