Shikhar Dhawan Announces Comeback 2 Days After Retirement

Shikhar Dhawan retired from international cricket by posting a video on social media on Saturday (Aug 24).

His last match for Team India was the 3rd ODI against Bangladesh on December 10, 2022.

Just two days after retiring from professional cricket, Shikhar Dhawan announced a comeback.

He is set to participate in the Legends League Cricket in September. LLC features retired cricketing greats.

He told PTI, “Taking on this new chapter...feels like the ideal progression after my retirement."

"My body is still conditioned for the demands of the game", he said, while talking about the comeback plan.

"While I'm at ease with my decision, cricket is an inseparable part of who I am, it will never go out of me," he added.

He has scored 6,793 runs in 167 ODIs, 1,759 runs in 68 T20Is, and 2,315 runs in 34 Tests in his decade-long career.
