Authentic South Indian Tomato Rasam Recipe

Splutter 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp urad dal, curry leaves, and 1 dried red chilli in a kadhai.

Add in 4 cloves garlic, 1 chopped onion, and 3 chopped tomatoes. Saute well.

Add ¾ cup tamarind extract, ½ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp jaggery and 1 tsp salt.

Cover and boil till tomatoes are cooked.

Add 1 cup water and 2 chopped green chilli. Boil well.

Add 2 tsp rasam powder and mix well to avoid lumps.

Boil and garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
