Tasty South Indian Banana Curry Recipe for Dinner

Banana curry is made of raw bananas and is popular in the Southern part of India. Try this tasty South Indian banana curry recipe at home for dinner.

Raw banana (peeled and chopped ) - 200 gm Garlic cloves - 8 Green chillies (whole) - 4 Ginger - 1 inch Black mustard seeds - 1 tsp Ground turmeric - 1/2 tsp Ground coriander - 1 tsp Salt - As per taste Mustard oil - 2 tbsp Cumin seeds - 2 tsp Carom seeds - 1/4 tsp Onion (grated) - 2 Tomato (pureed) - 1 cup Ground red chilli - 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli - 1/2 tsp Plain yoghurt - 2 cup Fenugreek leaves (dried) - 3 tsp Garam masala - 1 tsp

Ingredients

Blend garlic cloves, ginger, green chilies, and mustard seeds to make a fine paste.

Step 1

Add banana pieces, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, and mustard oil to a bowl. Add some blended ginger-garlic paste.

Step 2

Fry the coated banana pieces. Keep them aside. Now, heat oil in a pan, and saute cumin seeds, carom seeds, and onion. Add tomato puree, masala, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, and Kashmiri red chilli powder.

Step 3

Mix well until ingredients are well combined. Pour yoghurt and stir until oil separates. Add fried bananas, salt, and some water.

Step 4

Cover it with a lid and cook for a while. Once done add dried fenugreek leaves, garam masala, and coriander leaves.
