Yummy Hyderabadi Vegetable Biryani Recipe

Hyderabadi Vegetable Biryani is a flavorful and aromatic rice dish. Try this tasty Hyderabadi vegetable biryani recipe at home.

Basmati Rice - 1 cup Mixed Vegetables - 2 cups Onion, Sliced - 1 Ghee/Oil - 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp Yoghurt - 1/2 cup Biryani Masala - 1 tsp Red Chili Powder - 1/2 tsp Salt - As per taste Saffron Soaked In Warm Milk - 2 tbsp Fried Onions - 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves - As required Whole Spices - As needed Lemon Juice - A few drops

Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes. Drain the water and set aside. Heat some ghee/oil in a pan and add whole spices like bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves.

Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.

Add mixed vegetables like carrots, beans, peas, and potatoes and cook.

In a separate pot, bring water to a boil and add soaked rice along with salt and a few drops of lemon juice. Cook until the rice is 70% cooked. Drain the water and set aside.

In the pan, add the vegetables, add yogurt, biryani masala, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a minute. Layer the partially cooked rice over the vegetables. Sprinkle saffron-infused milk and fried onions on top.

Step 5

Cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid and cook on low heat until the rice is fully cooked. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with raita or salad.
