Delicious Mangalorean Fish Recipe

Ingredients: 2 half-inch steaks of kingfish, 1 lemon, 2 tbsp dry desiccated coconut (roasted), 2 tbsp browned onions chopped, banana leaves

Mangalore Masala: 15 dry red chillies, 3 cloves garlic, 1-inch ginger, 1-inch cinnamon, 3-star anise, 2 cloves, 3 sambar onions, vinegar, salt

Aromatic Masala: ½ tbsp coriander seeds, ½ tbsp saunf, ½ tbsp jeera, 3 fenugreek seeds

For the Mangalore Masala, soak the ingredients overnight in vinegar. Make a puree.

For the aromatic masala, dry roast the ingredients. Grind to a powder.

Marinate the fish with lemon juice and salt.

Add 4 tsp chilli paste, 1 tbsp aromatic masala, 5-6 curry leaves, desiccated coconut, browned chopped onions together and mix well.

Spread this on the fish.

Wrap it in banana leaves. Bake for 15 minutes. Serve hot.
