Adding 10 more will see Ashwin surpass Josh Hazlewood (51) as this cycle’s highest wicket-taker.
The Indian maestro has competed in 6 Tests against Bangladesh and has taken 23 scalps.
The 38–year–old could also break Zaheer Khan’s record of 31 wickets in Tests against Bangladesh.
Ashwin has 455 wickets in 126 internationals across formats on Indian soil.
He will have the opportunity to break Anil Kumble’s record of 476 wickets in the upcoming series.
