Study Right: 10 tips to remember what you study

Take handwritten notes It is important to take notes in your handwriting rather than typing them out. This will help you to remember as it involves the brain more actively.

Test your knowledge after memorising Shut the book and try to test yourself after studying. Ask yourself questions related to the topic and check if you can answer them or not.

Keep changing your locations It helps to keep your brain more active and trigger your memory. Consider changing locations if it gets difficult to remember stuff.

Use image and words Use flashcards and images that will help you to remember concepts. Our brain processes words faster when they are represented in visuals.

Ask questions Asking questions related to the concept will help you understand it better which in turn will help you to remember it better. If you have any doubts it is better to clear them.

Use diverse study materials Depending on a single textbook for your studies is not a good option. It is better if you use multiple study materials to understand the concept.

Study in bite-sized chunks If you try to study everything in one go you are likely to forget it all. Thus, it is always advisable to study in small chunks to retain the information better.

Take breaks It is important to take breaks in between your study sessions. It helps to rejuvenate the brain and remember what you have studied.

Teach it to someone else One of the easiest ways to remember what you have studied is by teaching it to somebody else. If you don’t have a willing listener like a parent or a friend, you can teach the wall.

Rest peacefully Sleeping is important as the brain processes the information in a clearer way throughout the time the body is sleeping.
