Healthy Malabar Spinach Dal Recipe

Ingredients    1/4th cup tur dal    2 tbsp split moong dal    2 cups Malabar spinach or any spinach of choice   4-5 cloves of garlic   1/2 tsp turmeric powder   1 tsp jeera   Few peppercorns   2 tbsp urad dal   4-5 dry red chillies   2 tbsp of grated coconut   Salt and water as required

Start by soaking the dal. Now, pressure cook it with garlic and turmeric powder, until it's well cooked.

Heat oil in a pan; add jeera, peppercorns, red chillies and coconut.

Once fried, add it to a blender with little water and blend it into a smooth paste.

Cook the spinach with 2 tbsp of water; next, add the cooked dal and the masala paste.

Simmer this for 5 minutes. Your dal is ready to be served.
