The Vande Bharat train touched 180 kmph speed in its latest trials in Rajasthan.

India’s fastest train, Vande Bharat Express, can run at a speed of 200 kmph if the tracks & signals permit.

Sharing the video of the trial run on Twitter, Union Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnaw said the phase 2 trial started between Kota-Nagda section.

The train has 16 coaches and a seating capacity similar to Shatabdi Express.

With an estimated cost of Rs 115 crore each, the railways have a target of manufacturing 75 such trains by August 2023.

While two such trains are already running between Delhi-Katra & Delhi-Varanasi, the next set will have upgraded versions in terms of security & passenger amenities.
