Mahindra Thar.e and Global Pik Up: M&M unveils new concept vehicles

Mahindra revealed 2 new concepts: the Thar.e, an electric off-roader, and the Global Pik Up, a pickup based on  Scorpio N. Both concepts showcase its new design and technology.

Thar.e concept

New electric off-roader with boxy and rugged design. Uses Mahindra’s P1 platform for EVs.

P1 platform

Mahindra’s new EV platform for six other SUVs. Modular and variable in dimensions.

Volkswagen motors

Powerful motors from Volkswagen for Thar.e. 80KW and 210KW for front and rear axle.

Global Pik Up concept

New pickup based on Scorpio N. Aggressive grille and bumper. Features Level-2 ADAS, semi-auto parking and 5G connectivity.

Gen-II mHawk engine

New all-aluminium diesel engine for Global Pik Up. Paired with 6-speed manual or automatic. 4WD and shift-on-the-fly capability.

Four drive modes

Global Pik Up offers four modes for different terrains: Normal, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Mud-Rut and Sand.

Petrol option

Global Pik Up also has petrol option for some markets. Same engine as Scorpio N in 2025.

Scorpio N connection

Global Pik Up related to Scorpio N, Mahindra’s upcoming flagship SUV. More premium and refined design than current Scorpio.

INGLO batteries

Mahindra uses INGLO batteries from BYD for its EVs. High energy density, fast charging and long life span.

Baja suspension

Thar.e features raised Baja-type suspension for off-road driving. Long-travel coil springs, shock absorbers and stabiliser bars.
