How much did Viacom18 bid for BCCI media rights?

Cricket in India — both domestic as well as international — gets a new home for the 2023-28 cycle

Viacom18 secured the rights for cricket in India for the next five years for a sum of INR 5,963 crore (USD 720.6 million)

Disney Star had previously held the global rights for cricket in India, for a sum of Rs 6,138 crore (then USD 944 million)

Viacom18 though, will be paying Rs 67.75 crore per game in the new cycle compared to Rs 60 crore that Disney Star had paid in the previous cycle

This is due to the fact that the BCCI has listed 88 games in the new cycle, compared to 102 between 2018 and 2023

Viacom18 also holds the digital rights to the Indian Premier League as well as TV and digital rights to the Women’s Premier League
