KBC Crorepatis: Where Are They Now

The Amitabh Bachchan-hosted 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' is based on America's 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' The 2000-commenced show has been a perennial favourite, boasting high TRPs every season.

Punjab's Jaskaran Singh became the first 1 crore winner of Kaun Banega Crorepati 15. The episodes featuring him are to air on Sony TV, at 9 pm on September 4 and 5, 2023. He is one of the few graduates from his area, and is also preparing for UPSC exam.

Maharashtra’s homemaker, Kavita Chawla was the only winner of 2022. The Kolhapur woman dreamt of participating on the show for 22 years.

Agra’s Himani Bundela was the first blind contestant who won the show. MP's Chhatarpur's Sahil Aditya Ahirwar beacame the 2nd winner. He is an IAS aspirant and son of a security guard. Gwalior's homemaker, Geeta Singh Gaur (53) was the 3rd winner.

Nazia Nasim, a Delhi-based communication manager with Royal Enfield and J&K posted IPS officer, Mohita Sharma were the 2 winners of KBC season 12.

Gautam Kumar Jha, Sanoj Raj, Babita Tade & Ajeet Kumar (2019)

Bihar's Gautam Kumar Jha is a senior section engineer with the Indian Railways. IAS aspirant Sanoj Raj, social worker Babita Tade and Jail Superintendent Ajeet Kumar were the other 3 winners.

Binita won KBC Season 10, and went home with Rs 1 crore as well as a Mahindra Marazzo. Her husband once went to Guwahati, Assam for work, but never returned. Since then she has been tutoring to support herself.

Jamshedpur's Anamika Majumdar is a commerce graduate and runs her own NGO called ‘Faith in India’.

(2015-16)

There were no crorepatis in 2015 and 2016. There were also no lucky recipient of Rs 1 crore in the years 2002-04 and 2006-09.

Delhi's Narula brothers were the first to  win Rs 7 crore. With the money, they paid for their mother’s cancer treatment and also set up their business. Homemaker Megha Patil used the prize money for her cancer treatment and her children’s future-securing investment.
