Nexon.ev: Tata’s Curvv-inspired EV that offers more than ICE Nexon

Tata Motors unveils the first mid-life cycle update for the Nexon EV, now renamed to Nexon.ev, with cosmetic and mechanical changes.

The Nexon.ev gets a new design that is more aerodynamic and energy efficient, inspired by the Curvv concept showcased earlier.

The most striking feature on the Nexon.ev is the full-width LED light band on the nose that shows the charging status of the battery.

The Nexon.ev also sports a split headlamp design with sequential LED DRLs and trapezoidal housings with functional air vents.

The Nexon.ev shares many design elements with the ICE Nexon, such as the grille, skid plate, alloys, tail-lamps, spoiler and bumper.

The Nexon.ev gets a new dashboard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster and touch-based HVAC controls.

High-tech cabin

The Nexon.ev gets a 360-degree camera, connected car tech, wireless charger, ventilated seats, sunroof, JBL sound system and more.

Top-spec features

Tata introduces a new app suite that lets you stream OTT platforms such as Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar and others on the go.

Arcade.ev app suite

The Nexon.ev gets six airbags, ABS, ESC, front parking sensors, blind view monitor, all-wheel disc brakes and emergency call assist.

Safety features

Tata claims to have improved the side pole protection of the Nexon.ev by strengthening the body structure.

Reinforced body

Nexon.ev comes in 2 variants - the MR has a 30kWh battery and 325km range, while the LR has a 40.5kWh battery and 465km range.

MR and LR variants

Nexon.ev gets a 7.2kW AC charger and a DC fast charger. It also has V2V and V2L charging features that let you charge other devices or EVs.

Charging capabilities

Nexon.ev gets a lighter and more efficient permanent magnet motor with four-level brake regeneration and paddle shifters.

New Gen-2 motor

The MR produces 129hp and 215Nm, while the LR produces 145hp and 215Nm. Tata claims a 0-100kph sprint of 8.9 seconds for the LR.

Power and torque

Nexon.ev has 3 trims – Creative, Fearless and Empowered. Prices to be announced soon. It competes with the Mahindra XUV400 EV.
