Bharat Mandapam, India’s cultural pride at G20, is a state-of-the-art complex that showcases the nation’s art, history, and traditions.
The 18th G20 summit will be held at the IECC complex, also known as Bharat Mandapam, at Pragati Maidan.
PM Modi inaugurated the complex on July 26. It cost about Rs 2,700 crore, of which Rs 750 crore was for Bharat Mandapam.
The complex can seat around 13,500 people. The multi-purpose hall & plenary hall can seat up to 7,000 people.
The shape of the building is inspired by the shankha (conch shell), blown during Hindu rituals.
The walls & exteriors showcase India’s art & culture, such as ‘Surya Shakti’, ‘Pancha Mahabhoot’, & ‘Zero to ISRO’.
During the G20 Summit, Bharat Mandapam will exhibit traditions from 29 nations, including India & the special guests.
