Apple patches security vulnerabilities in iPhones and iPads.
University of Toronto’s Citizen Lab found the software flaw.
The flaw was being used to deliver Pegasus spyware.
Pegasus is developed by Israeli company NSO Group.
Pegasus targets dissidents, journalists, and political opponents.
Ordinary users likely have little to fear.
Citizen Lab advises all users to update their devices.
Open Settings, select “General”, then “Software Update” to install.
If the update isn’t visible, check your iOS version or restart your phone.
If the update still doesn’t appear, check your internet connection and try again later.
