The Hyundai Verna competes with the Honda City, VW Virtus and the Skoda Slavia in the Indian mid-size sedan segment.
The car has a massive trapezoidal grille with a sleek LED light bar stretching across the front end. There are aggressive lines on the side that blend into the L-shaped LED taillight at the rear.
Hyundai’s next-generation Verna is available in four variants: EX, S, SX and SX (O).
The new Verna features a completely revamped design based on the brand’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ philosophy.
New Verna, on the inside, gets a dual-screen setup with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a digital instrument cluster.
The car is equipped with a 2-spoke steering wheel, ventilated and heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, 64-colour ambient lighting, a Bose audio system, an electric sunroof and more.
Hyundai is offering two petrol engine options on the new Verna - a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit; and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine.
The claimed fuel economy of the 1.5-litre petrol engine is 18.9 km/l (MT) and 19.6 km/l (iVT). The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol is said to return 20 km/l (MT) and 20.6 km/h (DCT).
The new Verna, in terms of safety, comes equipped with 6 airbags, and disc brakes on all four corners along with ABS with EBD as standard across all variants.
The car also gets ADAS features like Forward Collision Warning and Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane-keep warning, blind spot warning and safe exit warning.
