Ganesh Chaturthi 2023 is just a few days away & devotees are preparing to welcome Ganapati Bappa home. From sweets to fruits and flowers, devotees offer Lord Ganesha his favourite things. Here are 10 things Lord he is fond of.

Known to be a foodie, Lord Ganesha adores modak. Modak is a delectable Indian sweet made with rice flour dumplings filled with jaggery and coconut.

Durva Grass is a three-bladed plant and is very dear to Lord Ganesha. It is often offered in 21 knots during puja.

Lord Ganesha loves red flowers especially red Hibiscus. Devotees offer the vibrant flower during puja.

The sound produced by shankh or conch shell, is regarded as sacred & symbolises purity. Lord Ganesha, who is depicted with four hands, often cradles a shankh in one of them.

One of Lord Ganesha’s favourite fruits is the humble banana. Widely available, it is often offered to Lord Ganesha as prasad.
