Mumbai Metro Line 2B extended till Cheetah Camp

In a bid to create a smoother commuting experience for Mumbaikars, the Urban Development Department has recently issued a government resolution (GR) to extend the Metro Line 2B, News18 reported.

The Rs 10,986 crore metro line starting from DN Nagar in Andheri West to Mandale in Trombay will now be extended by 1km to Cheetah Camp.

The extension is estimated to cost Rs 206 crore, an increase of 1.8% of the total project cost.

The extension project is expected to benefit hundreds of thousands of commuters, providing significant reduction in travel time and improved metro access for residents.

Mumbai Metro Line 2B also passes through Bandra, SV Road, BKC, Kurla, Chembur, and Mankhurd, benefiting numerous commuters in densely populated areas.

Metro Line 2B will link Eastern & Western Express Highways, Western Railway, Mono Rail, Central Railway, Metro Line 1 (Ghatkopar to Versova), Line 2A (Dahisar to DN Nagar), Line 3 (Colaba to SEPZ), & Line 4 (Wadala to Kasarvadavali).

The metro line which is currently under construction is expected to be completed by December 2024.
