Producer:  Riya Ashok

Choose a bell pepper kind that works with your preferences and climate.

Early planting is beneficial for bell peppers. Start by planting seeds indoors 8 to 10 weeks before the final anticipated date of frost.

Sunlight is essential for bell pepper plants to develop and bear fruit.

Transplant your seedlings into your garden once they are two to three inches tall and have at least two sets of true leaves.

Bell peppers prefer soil that drains well and has a pH of 6.0 to 6.8.

Maintain a constant moisture level in the soil that is not wet. To avoid fungus problems, refrain from overhead irrigation.

It's a good idea to offer support to bell pepper plants because they can get heavy with fruit, which could cause the branches to bow or break.

Watch out for common maladies and pests like bacterial spot, whiteflies, and aphids.
