Shubman Gill- Fastest Indian Batter To Reach  6 ODI centuries

India opener Shubman Gill looks like a man on a mission leading up to the ODI World Cup.

Gill notched up his 6th ODI century against Australia in Indore. Five of his six ODI tons have come in 2023.

With his 104-run knock, Shubman Gill has created a new record by becoming the fastest Indian batter to register six centuries in ODIs.

Shubman Gill whacked six boundaries and four sixes and stitched a 200-run partnership with Shreyas Iyer.

Shubman Gill has taken only 35 innings to complete six centuries in ODIs since making his debut in the format in 2019.

Shikhar Dhawan follows Shubman Gill on the list. The veteran opener needed 46 innings to reach six ODI hundreds.

The other batters on the top-five list include KL Rahul (53 innings), Virat Kohli (61 innings) and Gautam Gambhir (68 innings).

Shubman Gill is one of the few Indian batters who have smashed five or more centuries in a calendar year.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid have also registered  5 or more tons in a calendar year.

Virat Kohli has achieved the feat as many as four times in 2012, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
