Flipkart, ahead of the Big Billion Days festive sale starting October 8, 2023, has launched a new subscription-based loyalty programme called 'VIP' in addition to its existing membership programmes Plus and Plus Premium.
The VIP membership will cost Rs 499 for a year. It will offer users added benefits like early access to the sale, priority customer support and extra SuperCoins.
Shoppers will get free same-day or next-day delivery in areas like – Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Kolkata (for select products) & return pickup within 48 hours for Delhi NCR, Bangalore and Kolkata (for select products).
This VIP membership also extends its benefits to Flipkart-backed Cleartrip offering cancellation or rescheduling of flights on Cleartrip once during the membership period, along with added discounts on hotel bookings as well.
Flipkart’s Plus and Plus Premium membership are based on a transaction-based entry criteria system.
Earlier, shoppers needed 200 SuperCoins to become a Flipkart Plus member, but a new upgraded version launched on August 15 this year made the programme accessible to shoppers based solely on their transaction history.
Plus Premium offers benefits like incentives on over 20 million products, an additional 300 SuperCoins for all Flipkart customers joining for the very first time, early access to flagship sales, etc.
