6 Tips for Growing Bell Peppers from Seed

Since bell peppers need a longer growing season, it's preferable to start them inside 8 to 10 weeks before the final anticipated date of frost.

Bell pepper seedlings require a lot of light to develop into a robust, healthy plant. 

The ideal soil temperature for the germination of bell pepper seeds is between 70 and 80 °F (21-27 °C). 

In seed trays or pots, sow bell pepper seeds approximately 1/4 inch deep in the soil and space them 2-3 inches apart.

Bell peppers like soil that drains well, is rich, and has a pH of 6.0 to 6.8. 

Maintain a constant moisture level in the soil that is not wet. 

Consider trimming the lowest leaves as your bell pepper plants develop to enhance airflow and guard against illness.
