Google Uses AI to Reduce Pollution from Vehicles

Google's 'Green Light' project uses AI to manage traffic signals and reduce vehicle emissions.

The process takes just 5 minutes for city engineers to implement, per Google.

Indian cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Kolkata are part of this.

Partner cities are reportedly seeing a 30% decrease in stops and up to 10% emission reduction at intersections.

This project exists in 12 cities globally.

Google's AI models consider factors such as intersection structure, traffic patterns, and light scheduling.

Recommendations found from these models are then sent to cities.

Google notes that results are visible within weeks.

Cities must join Google’s waitlist to be a part of this.
