PM Modi calls for peace & brotherhood as P20 Summit begins

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 9th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20) in Delhi on October 13.

The 2-day summit, scheduled for October 13 & 14, will bring together parliamentary representatives from G20 countries & various stakeholders from across the globe.

The G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit is being held at newly inaugurated India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC) in Yashobhoomi, Dwarka.

Addressing the inaugural session, Modi said it is time for peace & brotherhood. He cautioned that conflicts & confrontations do not benefit anyone.

"A divided world cannot provide solutions to the big challenges before humanity. We have to end the crisis over global trust and move forward with a human-centric approach," he added.

50 Parliamentarians and 14 Secretaries-General, including 26 Presidents, 10 Vice Presidents, 1 Committee Chairman, and the IPU President are attending the summit.

The President of the Pan-African Parliament is participating in the P20 Summit in India for the first time.
