WhatsApp Rolling Out Passkeys For Android Users: How It Works

WhatsApp is rolling out support for a password-less passkey feature.

The feature is currently available for Android users.

It will help users on Android bid goodbye to two-factor SMS authentication.

They can now use biometrics like fingerprints, face, or a PIN during the initial setup.

Passkeys were previously being tested by WhatsApp in its beta channel.

There is still no information on support for WhatsApp passkeys on iPhones.

Android support will roll out over the coming weeks and months.

Apple and Google already support passkeys for their users.

To use passkeys, you just use a fingerprint, face scan or pin to unlock the device.
