10 Important Things You Shouldn't Miss about  Madhya Pradesh Elections 2023

As per the Election Commission (EC), the Madhya Pradesh assembly election will be held on November 17, in a single phase.

Voting for MP's all 230 seats, by its 5.6 crore (number declared by chief election commissioner Rajiv Kumar) voters will be completed on that day.

The vote counting will be done on December 3, along with that of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Telangana.

Congress is hopeful of replacing Madhya Pradesh's current Chief Minister- Bharatiya Janta Party's Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Congress fielded senior party leader Kamal Nath from the Chhindwara seat, while former chief minister Digvijaya Singh’s son, Jaivardhan Singh will contest from Raghigath.

BJP's Narendra Singh Tomar has been fielded from the Dimani constituency of Chambal region, Faggan Singh Kulaste will contest from Niwas, a reserved seat and Prahlad Singh Patel from Narsinghpur.

Congress on Sunday, October 15, released its first list of 144 candidates. BJP, however, released two lists of 39 candidates each, then 3rd list of 1 candidate.

The political parties are to nominate all their candidates by October 30 as the nominee scrutinization will take place on October 31.

The last day to withdraw nominated candidates is November 2. By then all parties are expected to finalize their squad.
