Rajasthan

is heading for single-phase assembly elections on November 23, where 5.2 crore voters will be eligible to vote.

The vote counting will be done on December 3 (Sunday), along with that of Chattisgarh, MP, Mizoram and Telengana.

Rajasthan is dissatisfied with Congress' Ashok Gehlot's anti-incumbency. It might make people turn towards the BJP.

In 2013, BJP secured 163 seats with Vasundhara Raje as CM. But in 2018 Congress replaced them with 100/200 seat wins.

Even this year, the key rivalry lies between the renowned faces of the two parties – BJP's Raje and Congress' 72-year-old Gehlot.

There are in-party disputes as well. Gehlot has Sachin Pilot (46) and Raje has Diya Kumari (52) to worry about being their replacement.

Congress' Ashok Gehlot has been fielded from the Sardarpura constituency and Sachin Pilot from Tonk.

Diya Kumari will be contesting from Vidhyadhar Nagar constituency. BJP's Yashodhara Raje and a few others were unhappy with the first list of candidates, and some of them have even decided to contest as independent candidates.

The political parties are to nominate all their candidates by November 6, as the nominee scrutinization will take place on November 7.

The last day to withdraw nominated candidates is November 9. By then all parties are expected to finalize their election contestants.
