Established Indian whisky brands are experiencing slower growth or declining sales, while newer brands have increased their case numbers by up to 19.7%, according to a 2024 Brand Champions report. Here are the 10 biggest-selling Indian whisky brands.
Owned by United Spirits, Signature saw an increase in sales, selling 2.9 million cases in 2023, up from 2.5 million in 2022, marking a 15.9% growth.
Director’s Special Whisky experienced an 8.6% increase in sales, reaching 3.3 million cases in 2023 compared to the previous year.
Sterling Reserve, owned by Allied Blenders & Distillers (ABD), saw a growth of 1.6% from 2022 to 2023, with sales increasing from 5 million cases to 5.1 million cases.
Royal Challenge experienced a 19.7% growth in sales, increasing from 7.2 million cases in 2022 to 8.6 million cases in 2023.
Blenders Pride, owned by Pernod Ricard, saw an increase of 1.7%, rising from 9.5 million cases in 2022 to 9.6 million cases in 2023.
Radico Khaitan's 8PM showed a growth of 2.4%, selling 12.2 million cases in 2023, up from 11.9 million cases in 2022.
Pernod Ricard's Imperial Blue experienced a 4.9% decline in sales in 2023, selling 22.8 million cases compared to 24 million cases in 2022.
Officer’s Choice maintains its third position despite a 6% decrease in sales from 2022, selling 23.4 million cases in 2023 compared to 24.9 million cases the previous year.
Royal Stag increased by 3% to 27.9 million cases in 2023, retaining its second-place position that it first achieved in 2022.
McDowells remains the top-selling Indian whisky, with sales of 31.4 million cases in 2023, marking a 2.1% increase from 2022.
