10 Deadliest Roads in India

Kishtwar Kailash Road: Located in Jammu and Kashmir, the narrow winding road without any edges is about 100 miles long.

Khardung La Pass: The silk route connecting India and China, it is known for its indomitable height. It remains closed from October to May due to severe weather conditions.

Chang La Pass: The third-highest motorable road in the world, it is at an altitude of 5,360 m above sea level and remains snow-covered most of the year.

NH22: Considered one of the riskiest roads in India, it cuts through a mountain, bending at the most unpredictable places.

Leh-Manali Highway: With low overhanging rocks, dark holes, and blind turns, this road is one of the deadliest. One mistake, and the vehicle will fall into the Baspa River.

Neral-Matheran Road: The winding road has a number of hairpin turns, making it extremely risky. The rains make it even deadlier.

Zoji La Pass: Connecting Leh to Srinagar, it is one of the most feared roads as it it too narrow and covered in snow most of the year.

Rohtang Pass: It connects Kullu with Lahaul and Spiti Valley. It is located at an elevation of 3,979 m above sea level, and is open between May-November.

Nathu La Pass: Located at 4,310 m above sea level, it connectes India and China. It becomes deadlier during winters, thanks to landslides and heavy snowfall.

Munnar Road: The road is known for its steep and narrow zigzag turns. It is located at a height of 1,700 m above sea level.
