10 iconic sites in France hosting the Paris Olympics 2024

Eiffel Tower Paris’ most famous landmark is set to host the beach volleyball event. A 12,000-seat temporary outdoor stadium at the foot of the iconic structure is where the event will be hosted.

Champ de Mars Judo and wrestling will be held at a temporary arena in the Champ de Mars. This is a public greenspace between the Eiffel Tower and the École Militaire.

Grand Palais Fencing and taekwondo battles will take place in the opulent setting of the Grand Palais exhibition hall. This is a glass-and-steel masterpiece created for the World Fair of 1900.

Place de la Concorde The vast, paved square at the foot of the Champs-Elysees avenue will host games like skateboarding, 3x3 basketball, BMX freestyle and breakdancing.

Palace of Versailles Dressage, showjumping and cross country equestrian will take place in the park of the acclaimed Versailles Palace along with pentathlon and marathon events.

Marseille Sailing contests will take place in the Mediterranean city of Marseille. Ten football matches will also be played in the city.

Les Invalides Archery will be hosted in the Hotel des Invalides. This is a historic complex tracing France’s military heritage and was established by Louis XIV in 1687.

Stade de France The country’s national stadium will be hosting rugby competitions and athletics this year. Inaugurated in 1998, it has hosted numerous sporting events, including the 2003 World Athletics Championships.

Paris aquatic centre The state-of-the-art facility is the only permanent competition venue built for the 2024 Games. This will host all aquatic sporting events this year

Yves-du-Manoir Stadium This stadium will host hockey events in 2024. The only stadium to host the Games twice, it was the main stadium for the 1924 Games.
