10 Important Things to Know about Telangana Elections 2023

The Telangana Assembly election will be held on November 30, Thursday, on a single phase basis.

Eligible voters of the state will vote to elect 119 members of the state's Legislative Assembly.

At least 60 seats is required to form a government in the state. BRS, BJP and Congress are the 3 major parties eyeing the seats.

The vote counting will be done on December 3, along with that of the other 4 states - Rajasthan, MP, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram.

Telangana’s Chief Minister since the state’s formation - Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s K Chandrashekar Rao will be contesting from Gajwel.

Rao will be facing BJP’s election campaign coordination committee chairman, Eatala Rajender as his opponent for the seat.

BJP’s former State party president and Karimnagar MP, Bandi Sanjay Kumar is fielded again from the Karimnagar constituency.

Congress nominated 55 candidates in its initial list. Their state party president and MP, Anumula Revanth Reddy is to contest from Kodangal.

The political parties are to nominate all their candidates by November 10 as the nominee scrutinization will take place on November 13.

The last day to withdraw nominated candidates is November 15. By then all parties are to finalize their squad.
