In honor to cleebrate the most iconic character mankind has known, DC introduced Superman Day as an annual celebration on June 12, 2013.  

Superman: The Movie (1978)

Its back to basics with the best Superman movie ever made. Richard Donner’s take on the Kryptonian superhero played by Cristopher Reeves was a stroke of pure genius.

Superman II (1980)

Superman II, the sequel to the hit Superman: The Movie, stands out as one of the most iconic superhero films of the 1980s, serving as a true continuation and second chapter of the original film.

Man of Steel (2013)

Zack Snyder steered this film into one hell of a superhero feature. If you thought that Cristopher Reeves had an unmatched superman aura, Henry Cavill ate the pie.

 Superman Returns (2006)

Superman Returns is clearly designed to pay homage to Christopher Reeve's first two Superman films. Despite an over-reliance on nostalgia, the film successfully emulates some of what made audiences fall in love with Superman in the first place.

Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)

Although Superman is absent for half of the movie, the Snyder Cut is a massive, four-hour superhero epic that balances joy, fun, and humor with seriousness and world-ending stakes.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

The most controversial film on the list but an absolutely thrilling experience with an ending that had me bawling my eyes out (I was 12)

Yes, it’s too campy and much of the main plot doesn’t work at all. But once again, Reeve’s superpower is the fact he embodied Superman so perfectly that every time he’s on screen.
