10 Tips To Grow ZZ Plant

Light Conditions

ZZ plants thrive in bright, indirect light and low light conditions. Avoid exposing them to direct sunlight, as it can scorch their leaves.

Watering

They are drought-tolerant and prefer to dry out between waterings. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to become slightly dry at the top.

Soil Type

Plant ZZs in well-draining potting mix. A mix designed for cacti and succulents works well.

Temperature

They prefer temperatures between 18-24°C. They can tolerate occasional temperature drops, but not frost.

Pot Selection

Use a pot with drainage holes to prevent waterlogged soil, else it can lead to root rot.

Fertilizing

Fertilize sparingly during spring and summer, with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer. Avoid over-fertilizing.

Pruning

ZZ plants are usually slow growers. Prune yellow or dead leaves to encourage healthy growth.

Repotting

Repot them when they outgrow their containers, usually once every 2-3 years.

Pest Control

are relatively pest-resistant, but occasionally, they can be affected by mealybugs or spider mites. Treat promptly in such cases.

Propagation

ZZ plants can be propagated through leaf cuttings or by dividing mature plants during repotting.
