Meet Dhinidhi Desinghu: India's Youngest Swimmer At Paris Olympics 2024

As the Paris Olympics 2024 approaches, 14-year-old Dhinidhi Desinghu is making headlines as the youngest Indian swimmer to compete.

Dhinidhi Desinghu, born on August 12, 2009, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is the youngest Indian Olympian in Paris and the second youngest ever from India to compete in the Olympics.

Guided by her father, former swimmer Desinghu Chetty, she quickly gained recognition in local and national swimming competitions.

In 2023, Desinghu gained national recognition by setting a record at the Junior and Sub-Junior National Aquatic Championship in the 100m freestyle.

She further cemented her status by breaking records in the 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley.

Her stellar performance continued with seven gold medals at the National Games in Goa and participation in the World Championships in Doha.

In addition to these achievements, Desinghu represented India at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.

In 2024, she added gold medals to her collection at the Karnataka Mini Olympics and the Karnataka Junior and Sub-Junior Aquatic Championship.
