The league stage matches of T20 World Cup 2024 have been over and the four semi-finalists have been finalized. Read to know about their semi-final qualifying matches.
India: India reached the semi-finals after their Monday night Super Eight win against the mighty Australia.
The Rohit Sharma-led side thrashed Australia by 28 runs after posting a big total of 205/5 to join the semi-finalists.
Afghanistan: Afghanistan scripted history by making it to their first T20 World Cup semi final after beating Bangladesh in their Tuesday morning match.
The Rashid Khan-led side beat Bangladesh by 8 runs (DLS method), in a low-scoring match at Arnos Vale Stadium in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
England: The team with an uncertain Super Eight spot was the first to secure their semi-final berth after their Sunday win against USA (June 23).
With skipper Jos Buttler's 38-ball 83 and earlier Adil Rashid's 2/13 (4) and Chris Jordan's four-for, England thrashed USA, registering a massive 10-wicket win.
South Africa: South Africa was the second team to make it to the semi-finals on Monday (June 24) by knocking out co-hosts West Indies.
The Aiden Markram-led side restricted Windies to 135/8 and then chased the new total (due to rain delay) of 121 with 5 balls remaining, securing a nervy win.
Semi-Final Schedule: The first semi-final will be played between South Africa and Afghanistan on June 27 (Thursday) at 6 am IST and the second one will be played between India and England on the same day at 8 pm IST.
