Upma is traditionally a breakfast dish. Here are four upma recipes you can enjoy for breakfast.
Vegetable rava upma
Chop beans, ginger, onion, tomato, half a carrot, and green chillies. Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal, cashews, and curry leaves. Add chopped onion with other veggies. Add roasted sooji, salt, and water. Put a lid on it and cook for some time.
Lemon oats upma
Roast a handful of ground nuts and set aside. Heat some oil in a wok and add mustard seeds. Blend Bengal gram and urad dal. Stir in the curry leaves, red chilli, green chilli, and asafoetida. Mix in the turmeric powder. Bring to a boil with salt and water. Add instant oats and cook for some time on a low flame. Add a lemon juice before serving.
Mixed veggie dalia upma
Heat some oil in a wok and add the mustard, urad dal, cumin, curry leaves, dried red chilli, and eight whole cashews. Add chopped green chillies, onion, ginger, tomato, carrot, peas, and French beans to it. Add turmeric powder and salt. Now, add broken wheat or dalia and roast for some time. Add boiling water to the wok and cook it for some time.
