Tirunelveli Halwa

This halwa is known for its rich black colour as it is made with red wheat. It is allowed to cook in milk extracted from wheat.

Muscoth Halwa

It was popularised in Tamil Nadu’s Madalur by Jospeh Abraham and his son J Jeyaseelan. It is said to be inspired by a dessert Joseph had in Sri Lanka. It is made with banana stem pulp, sugar, and ghee, and flavoured with cardamom.
