Cook masoor dal with ghee, tomatoes, and basic spices.

Cook dal with onions, coconut, chillies, and spices. Later, top it with a coconut-oil-based tadka.
Masoor Dal Khichdi
Heat some ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds, chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, and tomatoes. Cook for some time. Add soaked rice and dal to it. Add haldi, garam masala, and salt. Mix well. Pressure cook for two whistles and serve.
Masoor Dal Dosa
Blend soaked masoor dal and rice/ urad dal along with the spices. Add salt to taste and water to get the required consistency. Ladle the batter onto a heated tawa greased with oil. Spread it evenly to form a thin dosa. Cook on both sides. Serve hot with coconut or tomato chutney.
