Monsoon is all about the cool breeze and the earthy smell of wet soil. Here are some light and oil-free recipes you can try in monsoon.

Steamed Idli

Prepare a batter of soaked rice and urad dal along with some salt. Now, pour this batter into the idli mould and let them steam. Serve them with coconut chutney and sambhar.

Soups

Make an oil-free soup with seasonal vegetables like carrots, beans, and spinach. Add some spices and herbs as well. Cook all these veggies in a pot. 

Dhokla

Prepare a batter of sooji, yoghurt, water, and salt. Grease the dhokla steamer. Now, pour the batter into the steamer and steam for a while. For tempering, heat oil in a pan, and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chillies, and ginger. Pour this tempering over the steamed dhokla.

Poha

Rinse the flattened rice in the running water and mix it with steamed vegetables and peanuts. Add a drizzle of lemon juice and enjoy.

Sprout Salad

Combine sprouted legumes like mung beans, chickpeas, and lentils with chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and a dash of lime juice.
