PM Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s first cable-stayed bridge, Sudarshan Setu, on Jan 25, 2024.
The bridge would make it easier for devotees to travel between Dwarka and Beyt Dwarka, as boats were the only resort until now.
The bridge, measuring around 2.32 km in length, had a construction cost of around Rs 980 crore.
Its pathway is decorated with verses from the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna on both sides.
The four-lane bridge with 2.50-metre footpaths on each side, was earlier named as ‘Signature Bridge’.
The bridge has a distinct logo of Lord Krishna's peacock feather drawn at its top part.
Being beautiful as well as useful, Sudarshan Setu is likely to be a prominent tourist attraction in Devbhumi Dwarka soon.
“Tomorrow is a special day for Gujarat’s growth trajectory. Among the several projects being inaugurated is the Sudarshan Setu, connecting Okha mainland and Beyt Dwarka," Modiji wrote on X.
