Parwal is made almost every day in every household during monsoon season. Here are some parwal recipes for monsoon special meals
Fry Parwal Aloo
Heat some oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds, parwal, and potatoes along with salt, turmeric, and chilli powder. Stir-fry the vegetables on medium heat until they become soft and slightly crunchy.
Parwal Masala Curry
Prepare a base similar to other curries with garlic-ginger paste, onions, and tomatoes. Add spices and parwal to soften and cook them. Mix it well and it is done.
Stuffed Parwal
Remove the seeds and make the parwal hollow. For filling, you can add minced chicken, eggs, or prawns for non-vegetarian options, and for vegetarian options, you can simply add potatoes or masala stuffing of choice or paneer. Add some oil to a pan and fry them before adding to ghee and tomato-based gravy.
Parwal Moong Dal
Cook moong dal with turmeric and salt till tender. Stir fry parwal, onions, and ginger-garlic paste in a different pan and add the cooked daal. Temper with a choice of spice and the dish is done.
Parwal Bharta
You can roast the parwal directly on heat or boil them and fry them slightly. Take some fried garlic, green chillies, and onions along with parwal, tomatoes, and spices like turmeric, chilli powder, and cumin. Add lemon juice and mustard oil to finish.
