South Indian cuisine is known for its rich flavours, vibrant spices, and a wide range of dishes. Here are five South Indian dinner recipes that are high in protein.

Soya Uttapam

Include soya granule or soya batter in your regular uttapam mix. Top it with chopped onions, tomatoes, and green chillies, making it a favourful and filling dinner option. 

Oats Idli 

Add oats to your regular fermented rice and urad dal batter. Pair it with coconut chutney and sambar for a satisfying protein-rich dinner.   

Pesarattu

 It is made with moong dal and rice batter and is spiced up with ginger, green chillies, and cumin seeds.

Peerkangai Kootu 

The ridge gourd (peerkangai) is cooked in coconut and lentil gravy. The dish is served with steamed rice or roti.

 In this traditional South Indian curry an array of vegetables are cooked in a coconut and yoghurt-based gravy.
