5 side-effects of using heaters 

Winter is upon us and North India is under the grip of a cold wave. From wearing layers of clothes while going out to using heaters or blowers at home, people are doing everything to keep themselves warm.

Heaters come in various types – electric heaters, oil heaters, gas heaters and infrared heaters. However, there are a few negative effects of using them.

Dryness: Room heaters can cause dryness in the air which can result in dry eyes, skin and throat. The absence of moisture can lead to a lot of problems.

Carbon monoxide poisoning: Gas heaters release carbon monoxide and breathing into high levels for long can lead to headaches, dizziness, nausea and can even be fatal in extreme cases.

Fire accidents: Room heaters can lead to potential fire accidents and can even cause burns.

Skin irritation: Long exposure to room heaters can cause dry skin which can lead to irritation, redness and itchiness.

Temperature fluctuations: Being in the presence of room heaters for long can lead to cold and flu due to temperature fluctuations as soon as you walk out of the room.
