From date and nut ladoos to almond and saffron halwa, here are some sugar-free sweet recipes you can try this Diwali.
Chop various nuts like almonds, walnuts and cashews. Lightly roast the nuts in a pan and add finely chopped dates to it. Mix it well and let it cool slightly. Shape the mixture into small balls and roll them in shredded coconut.
Grate fresh coconut and sauté it in a pan with jaggery until it melts and combines with the coconut. Add cardamom powder. Once it thickens, spread it evenly on a greased plate and let it cool. Cut into squares and enjoy.
Soak a cup of almonds overnight and grind them into a smooth paste. Heat ghee in a pan, add the almond paste and cook on a low flame. Add milk gradually and cook until it thickens. You can use a natural sweetener like stevia or mashed bananas. Add saffron strands and cardamom.
Mix chia seeds with almond or coconut milk and let them sit overnight. Sweeten with a bit of honey or maple syrup. Top with fresh fruits like mango, pomegranate, or berries.
Mix ragi flour, ghee, and your choice of sweetener in a bowl, then add nuts, seeds, and a pinch of salt. Shape the dough into small balls and flatten them on a baking tray. Bake until golden brown.
