Producer: Priyanka Das Editor: Mohit Bisht

Sudden Weakness or Numbness

One of the most common signs of a mini-stroke is a sudden weakness or numbness in the face, arm, or leg, usually on one side of the body. This sensation may be temporary and resolve within minutes or hours.

Difficulty Speaking

Difficulty speaking or sudden confusion can be another warning sign. Mini-stroke sufferers may have slurred speech or trouble finding the right words.

Visual Disturbances

Vision problems, such as sudden blurred or double vision, can occur during a mini-stroke.

Dizziness and Loss of Balance

A person experiencing a mini-stroke may suddenly feel dizzy and have difficulty maintaining their balance.

Severe Headache

A sudden, severe headache can be a warning sign, especially if it is accompanied by other stroke symptoms.

Short-Lived Symptoms

Unlike a major stroke, mini-stroke symptoms typically last for a short time, usually no more than a few minutes or up to 24 hours. This is why they are often referred to as “transient.”
