1. Snake plant

Drought resistant and extremely low on maintenance, almost all varieties of snake plants or Sansevieria are perfect for beginners and for those who find it difficult to keep plants alive. It can also survive in low-light areas and without water for weeks.

With thick, glossy leaves, the ZZ is an absolute must-have for new plant lovers to own. It thrives in neglect. Just use some well-draining soil, and water it once in 8-10 days. The plant can also go for a couple of weeks without water, and does fairly well in low light.

3. Xanadu

This is also an excellent drought resistant plant that can survive a couple of weeks without water. The plant also tends to spread out as it grows and is a wonderful option for ornamentation. Xanadu also does well in areas that do not receive a lot of sunlight.

4. Aloe vera

One of the best reasons to grow aloe vera is that not only does the plant need minimal care, its gel can also be used to make skin and hair care masks. The plant thrives in neglect, multiplies quickly, and is easy to propagate.

This philodendron has beautiful dark green leaves that are heart-shaped and has a light yellow strip running down it. The plant can grow both as a hanging plant and as a creeper and can survive when it's both over-watered and under-watered.
