The movie is not remake or sequel of Ishq Vishk, the 2003 film starring Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao and Shenaz Treasurywala. It was confirmed by Rohit Saraf.
Pashmina Roshan, who will be making her acting debut in the film, is Hrithik Roshan's cousin.
Jibraan Khan is best known for his role in Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001), where he played Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's young son.

Marathi filmmaker Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari is the director of Ishq Vishk Rebound.
